In 2010, Dave Smallshire of the UK and I led a nature tour to Costa Rica primarily oriented to finding dragonflies and damselflies, and it was very successful (we found >100 species of odonates). Because we went in the rainy season, butterflies and many other insects (not biting ones) were also common, as well as reptiles and amphibians. Of course there was a great diversity of birds and quite a few mammals. Although dragonflies were the focus, we couldn't help but see a fine variety of other creatures. There was much time for photography.
We are planning a similar tour for August 2012, but this one to the Panama Canal Zone, a center of biodiversity and forest preserves. If you are interested in participating in such a trip, contact me and I will send you further information.
