It should be added that the taxonomy of the gall mites that cause this type of galls on the genus Sorbus is not yet fully stabilised.
Suivi aussitôt de :Eriophyes sorbi; over here a very common species. Essentially a very unusual gall, because the mites live _within_ the plant, in the sponge parenchyma. Characteristically, at the underside is a tiny opening, well visible in the lower of your pictures.
Je rajoute la troisième photo que je lui avais envoyée :I am getting old. The name Eriophyes sorbi is no longer valid. It has been sunken under E. pyri!
